Clivia and Phalaenopsis...If you want them to have 50 flowers, you must freeze them!

Freeze the Clivia and it will bloom 100 flowers in spring!

It takes 4-5 years for Clivia to bloom, or until it grows 12 leaves. But for some flower lovers, both conditions are met, so why don’t their flowers bloom? It may be because the maintenance temperature is too high, and the Clivia cannot grow flower arrows during spring!

Clivia flowering promotion measures:

1. Appropriate low temperature.

Appropriately low temperatures are conducive to the growth of flower arrows for Clivia, so the maintenance temperature of Clivia in winter should not exceed 15 degrees. It is not easy to vernalize and grow flower arrows if it exceeds 15 degrees. This is the reason why Clivia rarely blooms in Guangdong and other places.

2. Create a large temperature difference.

Large temperature difference is beneficial to the growth of Clivia flower arrows. The best temperature is between 5-15 degrees, and it is best not to be lower than 5 degrees. Clivia is prone to frostbite below 5 degrees.

3. Apply more phosphorus and potassium fertilizers.

Clivia needs a lot of nutrients to bloom in spring, so it needs to be properly supplemented with phosphorus and potassium fertilizers in winter. You can dig two small holes on the edge of the pot and sprinkle a little bone meal. Or add some potassium dihydrogen phosphate when watering!

4. Control watering.

In a low temperature environment of 5-15 degrees, you need to control watering for Clivia, otherwise it will easily get frostbite. It only needs to be watered 1-2 times a month, when the temperature is high at noon.

Freeze the Phalaenopsis orchid and the flowers will bloom in clusters!

The Chinese New Year is coming soon, and there are more and more Phalaenopsis orchids on the market. After blooming, they can be placed at home for 2-3 months without withering, which is very festive. So how can we make Phalaenopsis orchids grow more and more flowers? The answer is to "torture" it!

Phalaenopsis flowering promotion measures:

1. Torture by large temperature difference.

Phalaenopsis also needs a certain degree of large temperature difference stimulation for flowering. It can be refrigerated at night with the temperature set at around 8-10 degrees. During the day, take it out and put it in a heating room with the temperature at around 20-25 degrees. In this way, the total temperature difference of the day will exceed 10 degrees. If this continues for 6-8 weeks, the flower arrows will grow!

2. Increase the temperature after the flower stalks grow.

After the flower stalks grow, keep the Phalaenopsis in a heated room and ensure the temperature is between 22-30 degrees to promote the continued growth of the flower stalks. There is no need to create a large temperature difference!

3. Increase lighting time.

Before and after the Phalaenopsis orchid grows flower stalks, it should be placed in a well-lit place such as a south balcony and exposed to the sun. The more sun it gets, the more flower stalks and flowers it will have!

4. Apply more phosphorus and potassium fertilizers.

If you want the Phalaenopsis to bloom, you must apply phosphorus and potassium fertilizers before flowering, including the period when the pedicels grow. You can apply compound fertilizers or potassium dihydrogen phosphate, about 2-3 times a month. Apply thin fertilizers frequently, and do not apply after flowering.

5. Increase humidity.

Phalaenopsis likes moisture. During the flowering period, it is necessary to maintain a high air humidity to facilitate the growth of flower stalks. You can spray more water on the leaves of Phalaenopsis, or you can place several water trays around it to increase the humidity.

If gardenias are frozen, the branches will bend under the weight of the flowers next year!

Gardenia is very difficult to grow in the north. Its leaves often turn yellow and it is difficult to make it bloom. But sometimes we don’t want to pamper it, let it endure the cold in winter, and it will bloom more next year!

Gardenia flowering promotion measures:

1. Keep it at a low temperature to make it dormant.

The best temperature for gardenia in winter is 0-12 degrees. At this temperature, gardenia will be dormant and will not be frostbitten. If it is higher than 12 degrees, it will germinate and consume too much nutrients, resulting in less or no flowering next year.

2. Control watering to prevent frostbite.

During the dormant period, the metabolism of gardenia is slow and the absorption capacity is weakened, so watering should be controlled to prevent waterlogging, root rot and frostbite. Watering can only be done when the surface of the pot turns white and very dry. About twice a month is sufficient, watering at noon.

3. Avoid pruning to store nutrients.

Before and during the dormancy of gardenia, do not do too much pruning. Try to keep more healthy leaves, expose them to more sunlight for photosynthesis, and accumulate enough nutrients to facilitate wintering. Prune them again during the Qingming Festival.

In addition to the above three kinds of flowers,

Like orchids, roses, jasmine and other flowers,

In winter, it takes a period of low temperature to nurture flower buds.

Don't just keep the flowers warm.

Sometimes appropriate wind and snow can make it stronger and more beautiful!
