Cutting propagation of June snow

Cutting propagation of June snow

1. Time for cutting

When taking cuttings, you must first determine the time. If you are using hard branches for cuttings, the best time is generally between March and April. If you are using tender branches for cuttings, the best time is between June and July. From this it seems that the time for cuttings is determined by the cuttings you use.

2. Cutting substrate

Before cutting, we must prepare the substrate first. A suitable substrate will be more conducive to its survival. Generally speaking, June snow is not very demanding on the substrate, but it is best to mix humus and river sand together to meet its most basic growth needs. After the substrate is prepared, we put it on the cement floor to dry for 1 to 2 days. This will have a good disinfecting effect on the substrate and prevent pests and diseases from affecting the plants. After the substrate has been dried, we can put it into the container and wait for cuttings.

3. Cuttings

We first find a relatively sturdy mother plant, and then cut a 6 to 8 cm long cutting from it. After that, after the wound at the cut has dried, we can insert it into the prepared substrate. When inserting, pay attention to the depth of the cutting. It should not be too deep or too shallow, just moderate. After that you can wait for the cuttings to take root. In addition, if some people find it troublesome, we can cut more cuttings, then combine them together and insert them into the substrate, so that we can plant them in pots in October or November.

4. Maintenance after cutting

After the cuttings are completed, subsequent maintenance is also very important. In the early stages, the cuttings are very afraid of being exposed to the sun, so we must build a shed to provide shade for them in time, and then pay attention to watering to keep the substrate moist at all times, so that the cuttings can survive more easily. After the cuttings are grown, you can let them enjoy some light normally, but be careful not to let the light be too strong.
