1. Light and temperatureThe Jade Lotus, whose hometown is South Africa, is naturally heat-resistant, so they are more suitable for surviving in a relatively warm environment. If the temperature is too low, for example, below room temperature by 10°C, the Jade Lotus is likely to be frozen to death. In terms of light, the Jade Lotus can tolerate an environment where there is no direct sunlight, so the light it receives does not need to be as much as other sun-loving plants. However, the Jade Lotus cannot be placed in a place with poor light for too long, because it cannot synthesize sufficient nutrients. Malnutrition will cause the Jade Lotus to grow deformed, and the purpose of enjoying the blooming pot will not be achieved. 2. Watering and fertilizingIn spring, it enters the season when Jade Lotus grows most vigorously. At this time, it needs to be supplemented with a large amount of water. At the same time, the Jade Lotus needs to be transplanted into a larger flowerpot for planting to give it sufficient growth space. This will help the Jade Lotus to bloom. If there is long-term rainy weather, the watering frequency should be adjusted appropriately according to weather changes. If it is winter and the temperature is relatively cold, the Jade Lotus should be placed indoors to prevent it from being frostbitten. At the same time, in this season, the growth rate of the Jade Lotus slows down, and accordingly, the number of watering should be reduced to avoid giving the Jade Lotus too much water that it cannot absorb. In terms of fertilization, do not apply too concentrated fertilizer to the jade lotus. Fertilizer diluted with clean water will do. Otherwise, the delicate jade lotus may not be able to bear it. 3. Soil and PruningThere are no special requirements for the soil. Just like growing other succulents, as long as the soil can meet the requirements of being loose and breathable, some leaf mold, sand and stones can be added to the soil. The cultivation soil formed after mixing can allow the jade lotus to grow better and be more likely to bloom out of the pot. Jade lotus that grows more vigorously needs proper pruning. Generally, when their seedlings grow to 10 cm, they need to be pruned, such as pinching, which can remove unnecessary branches and leaves, allowing the main branches and leaves to grow better and achieve the purpose of overflowing the pot. |
