How to breed a crown dragon

How to breed a crown dragon

one. Seed sowing method

This method is very simple and easy to operate. The most appropriate time for sowing is April to May when the spring is warm and the flowers are blooming. Specific operation method:

Choose a planting pot or breeding dish of appropriate size, pour loose, breathable, fertile, lime-containing culture soil, sow its seeds in it, pour an appropriate amount of water, and place it in a cool and ventilated place. It will germinate in about 10-12 days.

Because the seedlings of the Crown Dragon grow slowly, they need careful care during the seedling period and regular and appropriate watering. Be careful not to water them too much to prevent the seedlings from rotting.

two. Grafting

The grafting method first requires selecting 5-6 year old plants, which are relatively mature and nutritious at this time. Specific operation method:

Use a sterilized tool to cut off some of the top of the crown dragon. It will stop growing due to injury to the top, which will prompt a large number of bulbils to sprout at the base. When the bulbils develop to a certain extent, they can be removed for grafting reproduction.

The rootstock is generally chosen from the Oleander: select a vigorously growing Oleander plant, cut off the well-developed bulblets of the Royal Crown Dragon, carefully graft them onto the Oleander rootstock, and fix them. Pay attention to disinfection and sterilization during the process.

Using the Oleander as the rootstock, the Crown Dragon Ball develops quickly and grows healthily, and can be planted on the ground after 3-4 years.

three. Cutting propagation method

This method is much simpler than grafting, but the growth of the plant after cutting is not as fast as the development of the bulb after grafting. Here is an introduction to the cutting propagation method of Wang Guanlong:

First, choose the soil for cuttings. The soil should be loose and breathable, and it can be mixed with some slag. Pour the soil into a 4-5 cm deep flowerpot, then carefully remove the germinated or seedling bulbs on the Crown Dragon plant and place them in a ventilated and cool place to dry.

All the materials are prepared, and now you can start the cutting operation. First, slightly wet the soil with water, place the crown dragon ball on the surface of the culture soil and wait for it to take root.

Isn’t it very simple? But at the same time, don’t be careless. When watering, do not let the bulbs come into direct contact with the water. Be patient and wait for 10-15 days for the roots to grow.
