Differences between orchids and spider plants

Differences between orchids and spider plants

1. Orchid

1. It is a monocotyledonous plant, perennial, generally grows 20-40cm tall, with long cylindrical roots. Its leaves grow in clusters from the stem, like needles, usually in bundles of two or three.

2. Although it has many leaves, they are not messy and remain green all year round. It has a history of one thousand years in our country and is very valuable, and the ancients spoke highly of it.

2. Chlorophytum

1. This is a perennial plant. Its roots and stems are columnar, look particularly large, and have many whiskers. Its leaves grow at the base, are needle-like in shape, very narrow and long, 20-45 cm in length and 1-2 cm in width. The top of its leaves is relatively long and pointed.

2. Its biggest feature is that when it grows up, it will occasionally grow stems, about 30-60cm. Its flower pavilion is slender, longer than the leaves, and hangs down naturally. The inflorescence is racemose, usually white, with several flowers clustered together. It usually blooms during the transition from spring to summer, and it can also bloom in the severe winter if you keep it indoors.

3. Difference

1. They are not the same variety at all. The former has horizontal stems and is light reddish brown in color. The stems at the base can grow to 0.5 cm long. It generally has fewer branches, and flowers usually grow at the top of the stems. The latter has shorter and fatter roots and stems, and sword-like leaves that are about 30 cm long and 1-2 cm wide.

2. Geographical location: The former is widely found in Henan, Shandong and other regions. It can be grown in all parts of my country, as well as in Japan and North Korea. The latter originates from southern Africa and is grown all over the world.

3. Varieties: The former includes Chunlan, Jianlan, Hanlan and other varieties; the latter includes purple spider plant, golden leaf spider plant, silver edge spider plant and other varieties.
