How to propagate succulent pine

How to propagate succulent pine

1. Cuttings

What we are talking about here is the method of branch cuttings. This method is generally the most commonly used one among all succulents. Because cuttings are very convenient and quick, and the survival rate is quite high, it is normal that they are often used.

First of all, we must choose a good time before cutting. Generally, spring and autumn are the best time because the temperature is more suitable at this time, and the cuttings are easier to maintain and survive. If you want to do it in winter under special circumstances, it is not impossible, but you must make sure you are well prepared to keep warm.

Then we will start preparing the cuttings. Usually we find some branches with full growth and development, and then break off its twigs to become a cutting. After the wound at the broken end heals slowly, we can insert it into the potting soil. During this period, we must control the temperature of the soil, and then put it in a place with sufficient sunlight, but do not let it be exposed to direct sunlight. It is best to use scattered light as much as possible. If you keep doing this for about 10 days, it will basically start to take root and become a new plant. The cuttings are complete.

2. Beheading

In addition to the above-mentioned cutting method, it can also be propagated by beheading. No matter which method is used, it is very easy for it to survive.

We choose a more suitable position on the plant, or the place where it must be cut, and cut it directly. Then break off the extra leaves and let them dry. During this period, it is best not to let the wound come into contact with anything. You must wait until the plant is completely healed, otherwise it will be detrimental to its survival. Then put the cut plant in the prepared container. It does not need to be watered during this period because the air humidity in the container can meet its water needs. After a period of time, many new roots will grow, and then you can plant it in a flowerpot and it will survive.
