The propagation method of Sedum bulbiferum

The propagation method of Sedum bulbiferum

Division

This method can be carried out at any time except winter. Because the temperature in winter is too low, it is not suitable for the survival of young plants, but this method is relatively simple. The mother plant can produce suckers on its own, so you can just take the suckers off. It would be better if each plant could have 2-4 buds, otherwise it would be difficult for it to survive. After the incision is slightly dry, you can plant it directly in the pot, but you still need to keep it in a shady place for a period of time at the beginning, so that you can switch to normal management.

sowing

If you haven't started planting yet, you can choose to sow. This method may be more time-consuming, but it is not difficult. It is usually carried out in early spring. The soil covering the seeds does not need to be too thick, and the temperature can be maintained at 15-18℃. It will take about 3-5 weeks for the plant to germinate. After germination, if 1-2 true leaves grow, it can be transplanted. After transplantation, you can basically maintain it normally.

Cuttings

This method needs to be carried out during the growing season, because this is the time when they have the best ability to absorb nutrients and their chances of survival are relatively high. But the time is not completely unadjustable, basically April to September is fine. Cut off 2-5cm long cuttings and let the cut ends dry. If conditions permit, you can apply a little rooting powder on them. This will not harm the plants and will make them more likely to survive. Then you can insert the cuttings directly into the soil. Be sure to water them sufficiently the moment they are inserted. This will allow the cuttings to better combine with the substrate, and the survival rate of the cuttings will be better.
