Taboos on growing plum blossoms in winter

Taboos on growing plum blossoms in winter

The temperature is too low and no cold protection

Some friends may think that this flower is particularly cold-resistant and don’t care about the temperature at all. Since the flowering period of this flower is February and March, I am more confident in their ability to withstand cold weather. In fact, they can't stand sub-zero temperatures. When they begin to hibernate naturally, you can place them in a lighted location indoors. Not only that, you also need to sprinkle water on the branches so that they can absorb water better. At the same time, you must ensure the moisture of the soil. It is best if the temperature in the room can reach 8-12℃. When the flower buds show color, you can increase the temperature to 15-20℃. It only takes more than a month from moving to a lighted location to flowering.

Too much watering causes yellowing leaves

If you choose potted plants, the plum blossoms will be more sensitive to water at this time, but you can't keep watering them just because you want them to grow well. Potted plum blossoms are very strict about watering. If the soil is too wet, it is easy for the roots to have difficulty breathing, resulting in poor root development. In severe cases, the leaves can turn yellow, and even the roots can rot, and the entire plant may die.

When planting outside, be sure to ensure drainage when it rains, or move it directly indoors. After the leaves fall in autumn, you can directly reduce watering, and after winter is over, you can increase the amount of watering, so that more flowers will bloom in the second year.

Well, pay attention to these two key points and there will basically be no problem in planting. I hope friends who have learned from this experience can share it.
