How to propagate wild roses

How to propagate wild roses

Cutting propagation

Time choice: If it is under natural conditions, it is best to choose spring and autumn. If the surrounding environment is artificially controlled, it can be done all year round.

Selection of cuttings: The principle is relatively simple, that is, to choose healthy and healthy flower branches without diseases and insect pests.

Processing of cuttings: After selecting the branches, you can not start cuttings immediately, they still need to undergo some necessary processing. After cutting them, place them in a ventilated place for a few days to dry in the sun, and then insert them again after the cut is dry; or place them over a low fire and roast them slightly to prevent rotting.

Carry out cuttings: The temperature should be kept at around 20 degrees Celsius, and then the treated branches can be inserted into the selected substrate, making sure to tilt them slightly.

Post-processing: This mainly refers to humidity. Keep the substrate moderately moist, but not too wet to prevent rot. In addition, pay attention to the humidity of the air and cover it with a film to keep it moist.

Seed propagation

Time selection: usually in March and April.

Seed selection and processing: Select seeds with full grains and no pests and diseases, and then peel them, either manually or by machine. Then, rinse them with clean water and air dry them. After they are dry, you can sow them.

Sowing and post-management: Spread the seeds as evenly as possible in the soil, and then cover with plastic film. After about eight to ten days, the seedlings will emerge from the soil. After they emerge from the soil, the plastic film should be removed in time and then the plants should be watered for the first time. After that, water every ten days. After they grow leaves, you can water them once every half a month.
