How to reproduce the calyx

How to reproduce the calyx

1. Introduction

Purple-calyx spurred flower prefers higher temperatures, and its favorite temperature is 20 to 30 degrees Celsius. It has low requirements for the environment and is easy to survive. It likes sunlight, but semi-shade conditions will not cause the plant to fail to develop.

2. Seeding method

Cuttings can be taken at any time and in all seasons. Best in autumn and summer. Choose strong branches as cuttings, and keep the length more than ten centimeters, not too short. It is best to keep three nodes to facilitate the later development of the plant. After that, be careful to block out sunlight and avoid excessive exposure to the scorching sun. It will take root after ten days. The survival rate of cuttings is high.

Precautions for cuttings

Temperature: Temperature affects the rooting of plants. The temperature for its growth is between 20 and 24 degrees. The temperature should be appropriate. If the temperature is too low, the cuttings will have difficulty surviving. If the temperature is too high, plants will rot. If the temperature is too low, we can use film to warm the potted plants. When it is hotter indoors, we shade the cuttings.

Humidity: Humidity is extremely important for cuttings and its humidity must be ensured. We can use a sprayer to increase the humidity for the cuttings, and spray three times a day. When the temperature is high, a large amount of water needs to be sprayed to keep the cuttings sufficiently moist so that the internal temperature will not be too high, affecting growth and development. On cloudy days, we can reduce the amount of water appropriately. Remember, everything has its limits. If you humidify too much, the roots will always be soaked in water, which will prevent them from absorbing enough oxygen.

Light: Plant rooting cannot be separated from sunlight, but as we mentioned above, we must pay attention to shading. If the light is too strong, the internal temperature of the seedlings will be too high, and their transpiration will become increasingly vigorous, which will consume too much water and is not conducive to the survival of the seedlings. Therefore, it is necessary to block the sunlight.

3. Seeding method

Seed propagation: The calyx spur flowers bloom all year round, and the irregular flowering period causes the fruit ripening period to be more scattered, which is not conducive to collection. The seeds are two millimeters in diameter and are not easy to store. Therefore, the sowing method is not based on good choices.
