How to water the Meiguanlan

How to water the Meiguanlan

1. Watering time

Summer is the season when the beautiful crown orchid is more prone to water shortage. This is the critical growth stage of the orchid. If it lacks water, the beautiful crown orchid will not grow well. Generally, it needs to be watered once a day. When watering the Meiguan Orchid, you must adhere to the principle of watering thoroughly when it is dry, and stop watering in time when it is slightly wet, so that the Meiguan Orchid is in a slightly dry state.

When using mud or other materials that are easy to absorb water to plant Meiguanlan, you can appropriately reduce the frequency of watering, and watering once every two or three days is enough. It is most appropriate to water the plant in the early morning or after 4 pm. But remember, never water the plant at noon.

2. Water Treatment

The water used to water the Meiguan orchid must be clean water that is slightly acidic, and the pH value should be controlled at around 6. The temperature of the water should not be too different from the temperature of the soil, otherwise the orchid will not be able to adapt and the effect will be counterproductive.

In winter, the water should be heated slightly to keep the water temperature at around 15 degrees Celsius. If black spots appear on the leaf surface of the Meiguan orchid, or if there is bud rot, you need to check whether the water temperature and acidity are not well controlled and make adjustments as soon as possible.

3. Watering Methods

The first watering after planting the crown orchid must be thorough to ensure that all the soil is soaked: the water should flow out from the holes under the flowerpot, then the water in the tray is cleared and watered a second time to ensure that it is watered thoroughly.

On weekdays, you must not pour water directly on the branches of the Meiguan Orchid. You should use a spray bottle with finer water mist to spray the leaves of the Meiguan Orchid. This can not only ensure the moisture of the Meiguan Orchid, but also clean the leaves of the Meiguan Orchid at the same time.

There are some changes you can make to the watering method after the crown orchid blooms. Place the flower pot in a basin of water, with the water no higher than the top of the pot, to retain moisture.
