How to sow seeds

Sowing time

Of course, it is better to choose the period when the seeds have just matured. Because if the seeds are harvested and sown immediately, the survival rate will definitely reach more than 90%, but if they are planted half a year later, it will drop by half. If the seeds have been stored for two years, they basically cannot germinate. Friends who choose to buy online are advised not to buy foreign seeds that are too "international". I don't want to say much about the losses involved ~ you can experience it for yourself.

Soil suitable for sowing

They do not have very high requirements for the medium, but like other succulents, you must choose a loose medium that does not retain water. Another thing that needs attention is the disinfection of the soil. It doesn’t matter if you don’t have professional disinfection tools. You can soak it in tap water first, and then heat it in a microwave for 10 minutes. This can also achieve the sterilization effect. After it’s done, just take it out and dry it. However, here is a little trick: don't add too much water, otherwise the drying time will increase again.

Sowing steps

After putting the soil in place, it is best to spread a layer of larger vermiculite on it. If there is no vermiculite, friends can choose to add a little KMnO4 solution. It is recommended to sprinkle more on the seeds, and then shade them but place them in a brighter location. Under normal circumstances, all the seeds will germinate in a week at the latest. After a week, remove the shading tools and wait quietly. If the temperature is relatively high when sowing, the sterilization step can be skipped. At this time, flower lovers do not need to watch the plants too often, just take care of them once a week.
