How to propagate porcelain roses

How to propagate porcelain roses

1. Planting

Unlike other plants, the porcelain rose plant germinates more slowly when propagated by sowing, so this method is rarely used in my country. Since the porcelain rose plant has a strong tillering ability, the commonly used propagation method is to divide the tubers to propagate it.

2. Division

For the division method of this plant, you can use its mother plant. It is recommended that you first strengthen the management of fertilizer and water so that it can grow very healthily and can encourage it to sprout more and stronger buds. Generally, it can be divided from April to October, but you should be careful when doing so. You need to dig out the tubers and then cut them with a sharp knife. The purpose is to make them into clusters of 3 to 4 buds for transplanting. The porcelain rose plant is relatively sturdy. If it is in cool conditions, it can usually grow a new plant in one month, and it will be able to produce stems and flowers in the second year. After three years, it will be able to form a shade, thus entering a period of high production of flowers.

3. Tissue culture

If you want to obtain a large number of porcelain rose plant seedlings in a short period of time for large-scale planting, the editor here recommends that you use tissue culture to carry out large-scale production of seedlings. The most important thing is the choice of explants. It is recommended that you use young shoots that have just sprouted underground or just emerged from the ground, but it is very difficult to remove contaminants. Therefore, we can use the induced buds obtained under artificially controlled conditions as explants.

Having said so much, the above is the plant knowledge I brought to you today. Have you flower lovers mastered it? If you have mastered the methods I mentioned above, then you should quickly apply them to your own plant cultivation.
