Propagation by division

time

The time for division can be chosen in spring and autumn. The temperature in these two seasons is moderate, which will not make it difficult for the divided plants to survive. As for the time interval, you can choose once every three years.

Selecting bulbs

But what kind of bulbs should be chosen to operate? This is not difficult to understand. Naturally, you need to choose bulbs that grow well. Any area where pseudobulbs are densely packed can be selected. But one thing to note here is that after dividing them, you must ensure that each cluster has at least five connected pseudobulbs. Before you start, reduce the amount of water you add and allow the soil to dry out a bit.

Preparation of potting soil

Before potting, cover the hole at the bottom of the pot with broken tiles, and then cover it with coarse stones that account for less than 20% of the total amount of potting soil. Continue to spread fine sand on top, and finally put humus soil on the top layer.

Post-planting management

First of all, the depth that can be buried in the soil is just right. This is very simple. After watering thoroughly, place it in a cool place for about half a month while maintaining the moisture of the soil, and then gradually reduce the amount of water and maintain it normally.

Tips - Seed propagation

In fact, this flower can also be propagated by seeds, but the operation is complicated, so few people choose it. The seeds of this flower are very small, containing only a small embryo. It is very difficult to germinate this kind of seeds using conventional methods, so you must find the right method. Take a fruit that has not yet cracked, eliminate the bacteria, and then take out the seeds.

Soak the seeds in a solution of NaClO3 and water in a ratio of 1:9 for up to ten minutes, then wash them three times with sterile water, place them in the prepared culture bottle, and then place them in a relatively dark environment. After they germinate, place them under appropriate light to form protocorms. It will take at least half a year to successfully transplant. Those who are interested can give it a try, and then they can maintain it normally.
