Cultivation methods and precautions of grape hyacinth

Farming methods

Grape hyacinths are generally cultivated in the autumn and winter every year. It is best to choose relatively fertile and well-drained soil for cultivating grape hyacinths. Leaf mold and sandy loam are both good soils for growing grape hyacinths. After we plant the bulbs of grape hyacinth, we water them thoroughly immediately and then place them in a sunny place for cultivation. During this period, we need to water them frequently to keep the soil moist. After the inflorescence grows out, we should place the grape hyacinth in a semi-shaded place so that the inflorescence can grow rapidly. The environment for planting grape hyacinth should be kept between 15°C and 20°C, which is conducive to the growth of the plant.

Precautions

First of all, when planting grape hyacinth bulbs, we should pay attention to leaving the stem head of the bulb exposed. Second, we water the bulbs immediately after planting them in moist soil, and then water them less or even not at all. Third, grape hyacinths need to be placed in a greenhouse in northern regions where the winter temperatures are particularly low. If conditions do not permit, you can bury the flowerpots for planting grape hyacinths in the soil, cover the plant buds with about five centimeters of soil, and then cover the soil with a ten-centimeter-thick layer of straw. This will effectively keep out the cold, and if frost occurs, you can add some plastic film. Fourth, grape hyacinths do not require any other fertilizers and do not need to be fertilized. Fifth, grape hyacinths do not require much water and do not need to be watered frequently, but be careful not to let the soil dry out. Sixth, the suitable temperature for grape hyacinth is between 14°C and 15°C, and the relative humidity should be between 60% and 80%. Seventh, if you want to prevent the leaves of grape hyacinth from growing too long, you can control the amount of watering it. Reducing the amount of watering and providing sufficient sunlight can achieve this effect.
