How to fertilize the rich coconut

How to fertilize the rich coconut

1. Fertilizer selection:

The rich coconut palm likes fertile soil, so the best cultivation medium should be fertile loam. You can use peat soil, leaf mold, one-quarter river sand and some base fertilizer for potting. But it does not have too high requirements for fertilizer, all kinds of fertilizers are acceptable. The precious coconut likes a warm and humid environment, and has good cold resistance, able to withstand temperatures as low as minus four degrees Celsius (friends in the north can also plant it). But it is not sun-resistant and prefers semi-shaded places. Medium and small seedlings can grow well when the light is shaded by 70% to 80%, and larger palm trees planted in the ground can also be exposed to the sun. When potted plants are exposed to strong sunlight, the leaves will turn yellow and pale, and in serious cases the branches and leaves will be damaged, affecting the appearance.

2. Fertilization time and method:

March to October every year is the growing season of the rich coconut palm. At this time of year, fertilizer can be applied once a month. Applying fertilizer once before and after flowering can effectively extend the flowering period (pay attention to the supply of water during the flowering period). In late autumn, the palm tree will grow slowly, so try not to apply fertilizer if possible. In winter, the palm tree completely stops growing, so don't fertilize it anymore. When fertilizing the rich coconut palm, you should pay attention to the rational use of fertilizers. Choosing loose soil and reasonable fertilization can make the rich coconut palm sufficient in nutrients, increase the number of internodes and leaves, increase the area and thickness of the leaves, bloom earlier, extend the flowering period, make the flowers more colorful, the leaves greener, and more ornamental.

Although the word "coconut" is in its name, it is completely different from the fruit coconut that we usually eat. These are the main methods of fertilizing it. Everyone has a certain understanding of how to fertilize and maintain it. I believe everyone can grow it well.
