How to prune tuberose

Does tuberose need to be pruned?

Tuberose also needs proper pruning. It grows very fast. If it is not pruned for a long time, its branches can grow to more than 1 meter long, so it needs to be pruned every year.

How to prune tuberose?

1. Proper pruning in spring can promote the growth of new branches and buds of tuberose, so that nutrients can be used reasonably. The pruning part is the top of each branch plus a small section of the branch can be cut off together. This method can also be called pinching, which is also the most commonly used method of pruning plants.

2. After the flowering period, the pedicels of the tuberose flowers should be cut off in time. This can reduce the loss of nutrients and allow new branches to grow better.

3. After all the flowers have withered, all the dry and dead branches should be cut off. At this time, the dense and long branches can also be trimmed off. This will increase the light transmission effect of the night-blooming jasmine and reduce nutrient consumption during the winter. The density of the tuberose plants in the pot must be controlled well.

4. If the hair grows too long, you can stop it by cutting it short. The length of the pruning should not exceed 1/2 of the entire branch. It is best to leave 3 to 4 leaves on each shortened branch to allow nutrients in the soil to absorb.

5. Old, weak, diseased, and withered straight stems should be pruned in time.

The above is the pruning method of tuberose. I hope it will be of limited help to my friends.

If you want to prune plants, you must first understand the growth and habits of the plants. For example, its flowering period, fertilization period, growing period and dormancy period.
