Open-field cultivation technology of Stropharia rugosa

Stropharia is a common edible fungus , also known as wrinkled spherical mushroom and wrinkled spherical mushroom. The flesh is thick and white. It has a wide range of environments suitable for its growth and is currently mostly cultivated artificially. Below I will introduce the open-field cultivation technology of Stropharia rugosotis, let’s take a look.

1. Choose a suitable plot

You should choose a plot with fertile and well-drained soil, loose and breathable soil, and a pH value between 6.5 and 7.5. At the same time, ensure that the cultivation area has sufficient shade conditions and avoid direct sunlight to maintain a suitable growth temperature.

2. Prepare the culture medium

Stropharia major produces spores mainly through sexual reproduction, so a culture medium suitable for its growth needs to be prepared. Generally, wheat straw or rice straw is used as the main raw material, and appropriate amounts of sawdust, corn cobs and other auxiliary materials are added and mixed evenly. This is followed by composting and fermentation to improve the efficiency of organic matter decomposition and reduce the occurrence of pests and diseases.

3. Inoculation and soil covering

After sufficient fermentation, the culture medium needs to be properly cooled before it can be used for inoculation of bacteria. During inoculation, the operating environment should be kept clean and free of contamination, and aseptic technical specifications should be followed. After inoculation, flatten the material and cover it with a thin layer of soil about 2-3 cm thick, which helps maintain humidity and promote mycelium growth.

4. Maintenance and management

During the cultivation process, it is necessary to regularly check the water content and temperature changes of the culture medium to ensure that it is in an ideal growth environment for Stropharia rugosus. In addition, you should also pay attention to whether there are any diseases or pests, and take timely measures to prevent and control them. As the mycelium gradually grows over the entire culture bed, mushrooms will be produced in about a month.

5. Planting medium

Stropharia can use various agricultural and forestry wastes as planting substrates, with 5000-7000kg of materials per mu. The planting substrate should be fresh, dry, free of mold and rot. Before sowing, the planting medium should be pre-moistened by soaking it in 2% lime water to allow it to fully absorb water and maintain the moisture content of the medium at 60%-75%.

6. Spray water to moisturize

After sowing, water should be sprayed appropriately according to weather conditions and the dryness and wetness of the material surface. The mycelium begins to germinate 4-5 days after sowing, and can be seen emerging from the soil surface after 40-45 days. When all the hyphae are exposed above the soil surface, the hyphae in the soil layer begin to form bundles and a large number of white fruiting body primordia are entangled. You should pay attention to the humidity of the soil on the bed surface. Spray water less often and more frequently as long as there is moisture in the surface soil.

The above is an introduction to the open-field cultivation technology of Stropharia capitis. After winter, mature Stropharia capitis requires that the outer layer of the cap is not broken or has just broken, and the cap is rolled inward without opening. When picking mushrooms, press down the covering soil with your left hand, grab the mushroom legs with your right fingers and gently turn them, then pull them up, remove the mushroom roots with soil and sell them fresh on the market, or refrigerate them for freshness or dry them for sale.
