How to fertilize hibiscus

How to fertilize hibiscus

Soil preparation:

The soil for planting hibiscus can be made of 4 parts of leaf mold (or peat soil) + 1 part of perlite (or river sand) + a small amount of base fertilizer.

Fertilization method of hibiscus:

1. After adding base fertilizer during the planting period, no further fertilizer is needed for a period of time. The best base fertilizer is decomposed manure combined with a small amount of compound fertilizer.

2. Fertilization should be carried out after germination, around mid-to-late April, to ensure adequate supply of water and fertilizer. Fertilizers should be fast-growing ones, so that the seedlings can absorb enough nutrients and promote healthier growth.

3. During the flowering period, topdressing should be carried out on some relatively weak trees, and the fertilizers used should mainly be compost and an appropriate amount of compound fertilizer.

4. During the flowering period, that is, from May to October, fertilizer should be applied twice. This can increase the number of flowers and maintain the growth shape of the whole plant.

5. After all the flowers have withered, in addition to timely pruning, storing energy for the winter and applying appropriate fertilizers.

Hibiscus has many uses. In addition to its ornamental value that we all know, it can also be eaten and used as medicine. Generally speaking, planting one in your own yard is like raising a treasure. Go and plant it now!
