Cultivation methods and precautions of Cineraria

1. Breeding methods

1. Soil

It is afraid of dryness and waterlogging and needs neutral or slightly acidic soil. You can give it fertile, breathable, well-drained sandy soil, preferably rich in humus.

2. Watering

Its leaves are large and thin and need enough water, but not too wet, as long as the leaves maintain normal growth. Normally, you should wait until the soil is dry before watering, about once every two or three days. You can also water the leaves. The number of watering can be increased during high temperature periods.

3. Light temperature

It needs sunlight when growing and should not be shaded. The best temperature is fifteen to twenty degrees. If it is higher than 20 degrees, it may grow too tall. If it is lower than five degrees, it will stop growing. It is likely to suffer frost damage below zero degrees. Although it likes warmth, it cannot tolerate high temperatures. You need to turn the pot from time to time to prevent uneven light exposure so that the plant shape will be correct. After the flowers fade, a certain amount of light is needed for the seeds to develop.

4. Fertilization

Cake fertilizer should be added once every 7-10 days, and the dosage should be dilute. Chemical fertilizers can also be used. Once flower buds appear, you can add potassium dihydrogen phosphate and continue until flowers appear.

5. Pests

The most common pests are aphids and red spiders. If serious damage is caused, you can use Dimethoate liquid to spray them.

2. Precautions

1. If it is red spider mites, they are usually on the back of the leaves, and aphids are usually on the top, so when spraying pesticides, spray more on the back of the leaves and the top of the flowers, and you can sprinkle a little on the leaf surface.

2. When adding fertilizer, do not sprinkle it directly on the leaves. If they are stained, they must be washed. Do not add fertilizer during the flowering period. Place it in a well-lit area during its growth period. After it blooms, you can place it indoors for viewing, but it needs at least 4 hours of light a day to make the flowers more colorful.
