How to grow rambutan

How to grow rambutan

Reproduction

There are generally two methods of rambutan reproduction: asexual reproduction and seed reproduction. In comparison, the results of seed reproduction are relatively late, and the quality is uneven and the quality differences are relatively large. Besides, its seedlings are dioecious fruit trees, of which males account for 34.2%, which is very unfavorable for the regionalization of high-quality fruit tree varieties. So usually we use the two methods of asexual reproduction: aerial layering and grafting.

climate

The cultivation of rambutan is usually limited by temperature. It is a tropical fruit tree that is suitable for growing in a higher temperature environment and requires an annual average temperature of 24 degrees. Precipitation also has a great impact on rambutan, especially on its condition and results. Generally, rambutan grows best in hot and rainy environments.

environment

Rambutan prefers places with good drainage and should not be planted if the drainage is poor. In addition, rambutan is a tropical plant that loves light very much. Only when there is sufficient light can it grow, bloom and bear fruit well. Generally, if there is a strong wind, it will be easier to damage the branches and leaves of the plant, causing the leaves and branches of the rambutan to fall off, which will have an adverse effect on its growth and development. As for soil, it prefers fertile, deep and moist sandy loam, especially soil rich in nutrients which will be beneficial to the growth of the plant.
