How to sow succulents

Sowing method

1. First, prepare the sowing substrate and flower pots. As for the soil, it is best to use finer soil with better drainage and air permeability, and better water retention ability. Generally, you can use 1 part perlite, 3 parts peat soil and 1 part Akadama soil and just mix them, or you can also mix them according to your own standards.

2. After choosing a container, you can first lay a thin layer of pebbles underneath it so that the plants can better retain moisture and water. Or you can choose some 6 to 6 mm expanded clay or bark instead. When the container is almost full, level it slightly and soak the basin until it is soaked.

3. We can also spread a thin layer of Akadama or vermiculite on the soil to retain moisture and increase air permeability. Moreover, if these two types of soil are dry, their colors will be different, which is easy to see. Another thing to note is that if you don't lay soil, you must pick out the perlite that floats to the surface of the soil after soaking, which are those small white stones.

4. Another important thing is to soak the pot until you see water seeping out of the soil and then wait for half an hour. This will ensure that the soil can fully absorb all the water. After the seedlings emerge, you should continue to use this method to replenish the moisture in the soil, but it only takes 2 to 5 minutes.

5. When sowing, because the seeds are relatively small, we can first put the seeds on a piece of white paper, and then use a toothpick dipped in water to put the seeds in the flowerpot. Remember not to cover the soil after putting them in, and make sure the seeds are on the soil surface. Then put a layer of plastic wrap on it and poke some small holes with a toothpick to increase ventilation.

Precautions

After completing the above steps, you can put it in a place with good light and wait for it to germinate. Be careful not to expose it to direct sunlight. Once it sprouts, you can put it in a place with good sunlight.
