How to fertilize cymbidium

How to fertilize cymbidium

Fertilizer selection

The fertilizer applied to large-flowered Cymbidium can be some farmyard manure, but it must be well-rotted, at least one year old. Then dilute the fertilizer liquid with 10 to 20 times the amount of water and use it for watering. It is recommended to sprinkle it on the edge of the flowerpot, avoiding getting it on the roots or leaves.

method

First of all, it is best to apply fertilizer multiple times, using less fertilizer each time. For example, you can use a thinner fertilizer once every 10 to 15 days. Then the best place to spray fertilizer is on the leaves, especially during the growth and development stage. Generally, you can spray fertilizer on the leaves once every ten days. You can use aloe vera liquid or 1000 times liquid of boron fertilizer. Of course, natural organic fertilizer is the best, it is milder and can prevent soil compaction.

time

Plants in the growth period can be fed with concentrated liquid fertilizer once every 14 days. When they are about to bloom, you can use concentrated liquid fertilizer for flowers, and use it again after the flowers bloom. During the vegetative growth period from January to June, you can use some ammonia fertilizer plus appropriate potassium fertilizer. During the reproductive period from June to October, some phosphorus fertilizer and potassium fertilizer should be added, and the amount of ammonia fertilizer should be appropriately reduced. Use more nitrogen fertilizer from March to September, and in October you can add potassium fertilizer or some special fertilizer for orchids. After flowering in April and May and in September and October in autumn, you can apply a little freshly fermented cake fertilizer once or twice.
