How to prevent and cure cyclamen curling and yellowing

Leaves curl and turn yellow

Solution: Lack of nutrition, you need to fertilize as soon as possible and go to the flower shop to buy special fertilizers. Do not add too much nutrition to the flowers. You can bury a small amount of cooked soybeans, cooked peanuts, etc. in the pot.

Flower buds dry up

Improper watering.

Solution: If cyclamen is well cared for, it can bloom twice a year, mainly in spring and autumn. It prefers a semi-shaded environment and should not be grown in the sun. Water less during the dormant period and just keep the soil moist to prevent the roots from rotting due to excessive moisture. When watering, water thoroughly when the soil is dry and wet. Do not water every day, because cyclamen has a bulbous root that can store water. If you water too much, the flower buds will fall off and the leaves will turn yellow. In spring, you need to water it once every three days, and in autumn, you only need to water it once every five days.

Leaves curling

main reason

Light: Cyclamen is suitable for planting in places with sufficient light such as windows or balconies, and the position of the flower pots should be changed frequently. Sufficient light can make the flowers more colorful and the leaves more shiny. Insufficient light will cause the leaves of cyclamen to turn yellow.

Secondary causes

Water: Watering should be properly controlled. Too much water will cause root rot. Wait until the flowers and leaves are slightly wilted before watering. It is best to soak the bottom of the pot in water and do not pour too much water on the leaves.

Ventilation: Cyclamen likes ventilated places. Smoke and dirty air will cause the petals to dry up and wither, but it cannot be kept in a windy place.

Temperature: Room temperature above 5℃ can allow cyclamen to grow normally. A low room temperature can keep the cyclamen in bloom for a longer period of time, but the flowers will bloom more slowly; when the room temperature is high, the flowers will bloom faster, but the flowering period will be shorter.

Humidity: Humidity should be maintained at 60-70%. Too little humidity will cause the flowers to become smaller, while too much humidity will cause gray mold and other fungal diseases on the petals and leaves. It is strictly forbidden to spray water on the petals, otherwise it will cause the petals to rot.
