How to plant Hypericum

How to plant Hypericum

Growth habit

Hypericum is suitable for growing in areas with distinct four seasons and prefers a warm, semi-sun and semi-shade environment. If planted in the north, Hypericum should be moved to a sunny place in winter. Hypericum is not cold-resistant, so before the cold air arrives, soil should be built around the roots of the plant to protect it safely through the winter. If it is moved indoors, there is no need to add soil. But choose a sunny place.

Planting method

Daily care of Hypericum is easy, and its cultivation is even simpler. The planting soil can be ordinary soil with some fertilizer. Hypericum should be pruned once before sprouting in spring, which can promote the growth and health of new branches. After flowering and fruiting, the remaining flowers and fruits on the Hypericum plant should be removed cleanly. This will be more conducive to the growth of Hypericum and increase its ornamental value.

During the growing season of Hypericum, the soil should be kept moist, but there should be no waterlogging or accumulation of water. In the hot summer, you should pay attention to shade and cooling. You can use water to cool it down. In spring and autumn, you should let Hypericum be exposed to more sunlight.

There are three ways to propagate Hypericum: division, sowing and cutting, and the survival rate is very high.

Even when Hypericum is not in bloom, its leaves are still very ornamental.
