Causes and treatments for yellow leaves on green plants

Causes and treatments for yellow leaves on green plants

1. Excessive watering

1. Reason: Green plants need sufficient water during maintenance, but frequent watering causes water accumulation in the potting soil, which can easily cause root rot of the plant, leading to the formation of yellow leaves.

2. Treatment method: We need to stop watering immediately, loosen the soil, put it in a well-ventilated place for maintenance for a period of time, and then start watering normally after it slowly recovers. Be sure not to let water accumulate in the potting soil. Wait until the soil is completely dry before watering.

2. Lack of light

1. Reason: If green plants are kept indoors for a long time and cannot get sufficient light, they cannot carry out normal photosynthesis and their leaves will gradually turn yellow.

2. Treatment method: We can move it to a sunny place outdoors for maintenance, but we cannot expose it directly to the sun. We need to give it time to adapt to prevent burning of the leaves. You can first place it in a place with scattered light or a cool place outdoors for a few days, slowly increase the length of light exposure, and then place it in a place with good light for maintenance.

3. Too little fertilizer

1. Reason: The maintenance of green plants requires proper fertilization. If no fertilizer is applied for a long time and the nutrients it needs cannot be supplied, the leaves of the plants will slowly turn yellow.

2. Treatment method: We need to add fertilizer to it regularly. Generally, we apply compound fertilizer mainly containing nitrogen or decomposed organic fertilizer, but not raw fertilizer. Fertilize according to the principle of applying thinly and frequently, 2-3 times a month is enough.

4. Poor ventilation

1. Reason: If green plants are placed in a place with poor air circulation for a long time and cannot get the fresh air they need, it is easy to cause yellow leaves, and in severe cases, even a large number of leaves will fall off.

2. Treatment method: We need to move it to a well-ventilated place for maintenance for a period of time, and then move it back to its original position. After that, ventilate it once every week.
