Layering

There are two periods each year for cashew seedling layering, one is from February to April, and the other is from October to November. The success rate of layering in these two time periods is as high as 93%. The most suitable mother plant for layering is one that is less than 10 years old. If the mother plant is too old, over 20 years old, it will be difficult to take root even if the layering is successful. Layering is usually done using materials such as peat, wood shavings and moss.

Tissue culture

Cotyledon explants cultured on medium supplemented with 0.5 mg/L IAA and 0.5 mg/L kinetin can directly form organs and complete plants in about 5 weeks. No culturing or induction is required.

Plastic pruning

Shaping and pruning cashew trees can increase the fruit set rate and enhance ventilation and light transmission of the tree. Plastic surgery usually follows the principle of light rather than heavy, and early rather than late. Pruning can be done in batches, which will have a better effect.

Precautions

Cashew trees are threatened by dozens of diseases and insects during the long growth period from cultivation to fruiting. For example: gum disease,

Yellow leaf spot, leaf rot, etc. If pests such as beetles and cashew moths appear on the cashew tree, be sure to spray pesticides in time!
