Remove soil and wash roots

Since most mosquito repellent grasses are cultivated in soil, the process of removing the soil and washing the roots is particularly important. As we all know, soil cultivation is organic nutrition, while hydroponics belongs to inorganic nutrition. Therefore, the organic matter attached to the roots must be thoroughly cleaned, otherwise the plants will easily be threatened by diseases and pests.

Root washing method

Gently take the selected mosquito repellent grass plant out of the soil, first hold the stem lightly with your right hand, and hold the root of the mosquito repellent grass with your left hand. Then shake it gently to loosen the dirt from the roots. Then, soak the plant in clean water for about 15 to 20 minutes. Repeat this process 2 to 3 times, repeatedly changing the water and cleaning the plant until the soil at the roots has been completely cleaned.

After completing the above method, insert the mosquito repellent grass in water and new roots will sprout in about 10 days.
