How to plant Sophora japonica seeds

How to plant Sophora japonica seeds

Seed treatment of Sophora japonica

Generally, when sowing flowers, the seeds need to be processed before planting. There are two ways to process Sophora japonica seeds. One is the seed soaking method. Soak the seeds in 80℃ water and stir constantly. As the water temperature continues to drop, wait until it drops to about 45℃, then soak for another day. After the seeds expand, take them out. The soaked seeds can be wrapped in wet cloth to germinate. Once the seeds sprout, they can be sown.

The second method is to store the seeds in sand before sowing. First, soak the sand in water for a day to make it full of moisture. Then mix the seeds and sand together, put them in a pit, and cover them with plastic film. Note that it is necessary to keep the seeds moist during the sand storage period. When about 50% of the seeds have germinated, they can be sown.

Sowing method of Sophora japonica

First of all, you need to choose suitable soil. Sophora japonica needs fertile and thick sandy soil or garden soil with good drainage. It can adapt to low-lime or slightly acidic soils, but is not tolerant to drought and barrenness.

The sowing is usually done in spring, around April. You can adopt the method of digging ridges and sowing, sowing the seeds into the ridges. After sowing, pay attention to maintain the spacing and tightly combine the seeds and soil. You can cover them with plastic film.

After it grows to a certain height, it can be transplanted and planted.
