What are the methods of propagating money tree?

Propagation of Money Tree by Division

The season for division propagation of Money Tree is April. The specific steps are to first remove the larger Money Tree from the pot and shake off the old soil, separate it at the weak joints of the tubers, then apply sulfur powder or wood ash, and plant it in the pot. What needs to be noted here is that when planting, do not bury it too deep, 1.5-2cm below the tuber is enough. In addition, because the tubers of the money tree have latent buds, the large tubers can be divided into small pieces with latent buds, buried in moist fine sand after the wounds heal, and then planted in pots after the small tubers have grown into independent plants.

Cutting propagation of money tree

For money tree propagated by cuttings, it is best to use cuttings with leaf rachis and leaves, so that the survival rate is high and the growth rate is fast. For the substrate for cutting propagation, you can choose general fine sand or peat soil, perlite, and river sand mixed in a ratio of 3:1:1. When cutting, one-third or one-half of the cuttings are buried in the soil, leaving only the leaves on the substrate. Then spray them with water and place them in a cool place. Maintain a suitable room temperature, spray the leaves regularly every day, and keep the potting soil moist but not too wet, otherwise the cuttings will rot and the cuttings will fail. In addition, it is also necessary to note that when the cuttings form a certain root system, the middle of the root swells to form a small tuber and gradually increases in size. Some cutting leaves will turn yellow and die due to improper management, but the tubers can survive, and mature leaves and cuttings with petioles can add vitality.
