When do peonies bloom?

1. Under normal circumstances, it will only open once a year, in April. The opening time is usually short, about ten days, from the 10th to the 20th. Of course, we can also take certain measures to delay its opening in winter.

2. In fact, under normal circumstances, peonies will shed their leaves in winter and will only bloom again in spring. However, this is not the case for all varieties. Some varieties differentiate very early and their buds are in shallow dormancy. Under very natural conditions, their leaves will unfold, so the second flowering is a natural process.

3. The flowering time of some unique varieties is not consistent. The winter peony can bloom twice a year, and more than a dozen flowers bloom in spring. The number of flowers blooming in winter is not as many as in spring. The flowers of the winter cherry lion bloom around late October, those of the Huchuanhan in early November, and those of the Shigurekumo in mid-to-late November.

2. Adjust the flowering period

1. Although the flowering period of peony is fixed, with the advancement of technology, the flowering period can be artificially controlled. Generally, some methods can be used to control its flowering period during National Day and Spring Festival, so if someone wants to display it as a potted plant during a certain festival, they can prepare in advance and control its flowering period.

2. Generally, the temperature should be controlled to around zero degrees before July 15th, during the National Day. Then let it grow normally after half a month, and it will be able to bloom normally by the end of September.

3. If you want to choose the Spring Festival, you should select peonies that are several years old, and pot them two months in advance. Then put them in the room to warm up. Control the temperature at around 15 to 20 degrees during the day and around 10 to 15 degrees at night, and ensure good light and water.

4. If you want the flowers to bloom on May Day, you need to move them from cold storage into the room at the end of March, then increase the temperature and water them, and the flowers will bloom after a month.
