Rice field fish farming is an ecological circular agricultural model that makes full use of the water resources and space of rice fields and improves land utilization rate. At the same time, fish can also provide natural fertilizers for rice fields to achieve mutually beneficial symbiosis between rice and fish. So what is the best way to raise fish in rice fields? Let’s learn more about it below. 1. Rice field selection Choose rice fields with sufficient water sources, good water quality, and convenient irrigation and drainage. Before transplanting rice seedlings, it is necessary to raise and reinforce the ridges, dig fish ditches and fish pits, and set up fish fences to prevent fish from escaping. At the same time, fish ponds and fish ditches are disinfected, and fertilizers are applied to improve the water quality. 2. Fish stocking Fish farming in rice fields mainly involves raising commercial fish. Large-sized fish species can be selected for stocking, mainly bream , crucian carp , silver carp and bighead carp. The specific stocking ratio is generally 30% each for bream and crucian carp, 20% for silver carp, 5% to 7% for bighead carp, and the remaining small species account for 3% to 5% in total. 3. Feeding Fish farming in rice fields mainly relies on natural bait in rice fields, such as plankton, benthic organisms and rice field weeds. However, during the growing season, you can also add some special artificial baits, such as fish meal, bean cake, etc., to promote the growth of fish. When feeding, just pay attention to the "four determination" principles. 4. Water quality control First of all, the water depth should be controlled well. The water depth should be maintained at 10cm in the initial fry stage; after the rice jointing period, the water depth increases to 13-17cm; the water depth is controlled at 15-20cm in the two-year-old fish stage. In addition, during the hot summer season, it is necessary to take measures to cool down the water and increase the water depth to prevent affecting the growth of fish or causing death. 5. Disinfection and disease prevention Regularly check the health status of rice fields and fish species, and use drugs scientifically and rationally. When giving drugs to rice, strictly control the dosage and safe concentration, and do not neglect the safety of fish. In addition, in the middle and late stages of breeding, 1ppm concentration of bleaching powder containing 28% effective chlorine should be sprayed throughout the pond every 10-15 days. 6. Daily management Carry out daily inspections, check the condition of field ridges, pay attention to the maintenance and repair of drainage outlets and fish intercepting equipment, and clear and repair them in time if there is blockage or damage. When the fields are drying or there is less water on the field, the fish ditch should be checked regularly to ensure that it is unobstructed. In general, fish farming in rice fields can not only improve the comprehensive utilization efficiency of rice fields, but also increase farmers' income, while also having a positive impact on the ecological environment. However, its technical requirements are relatively high, and attention should be paid to scientific breeding management to achieve sustainable development of agricultural production.
