How to sow red

How to sow red

Introduction to sowing red:

There are about 220 to 300 seeds per gram of salvia miltiorrhiza. It can be sown in spring, summer, autumn and winter. It is suitable to use relatively loose artificial media for sowing. It can be sown in beds or boxes. If conditions permit, seedlings can be grown in hole trays. They will germinate about 5-10 days after sowing.

Stages of sowing method of red sage

Phase 1

The salvia will sprout about 4-5 days after sowing. When it just sprouts, the humidity of the medium must be maintained. It is recommended to cover it with a layer of coarse vermiculite after sowing. Sunlight is conducive to the germination of the salvia, so let the salvia be exposed to the sun more in the early stage of sowing.

Phase II

Wait until the main root of the impatiens grows to about 1-2 cm and leaves grow before you start applying fertilizer, preferably water-soluble fertilizer.

Phase 3

At this stage, the impatiens has entered a rapid growth period. At this time, it is sufficient to apply fertilizer every 5-10 days, and the moisture of the medium can be appropriately controlled.

Stage 4

At this stage, the root system has basically formed and there are three pairs of true leaves. Properly control water and increase ventilation to prevent the impatiens from growing too tall.

Transplantation of red sage

If you use plug tray seedlings, you can transplant them into pots when they grow 2-3 pairs of true leaves. If you use other methods, it is best to transplant the seedlings once in a plug tray when they grow 1-2 pairs of true leaves and then transplant them into pots.
