How to repot the fortune tree

How to repot the fortune tree

Repotting time

When repotting the money tree, it is usually done once every two years. Repotting is usually done in April in spring, but it can also be done during the dormant period in summer.

When repotting the money tree, you need to consider the growth condition of the plant. If the plant has grown thick and strong, you need to replace it with a new pot and remove some of the soil.

Repotting method

Take out the money tree plant, remove some of the soil, trim the damaged roots, and then put it in the pot. Choose suitable flower pots and soil. You can choose a slightly larger flower pot. The soil should be moist and well-drained. You can use garden soil plus river sand and sawdust, etc., in a ratio of 3:1:1.

When putting the plant in the pot, pay attention to the standard of putting it halfway into the pot and exactly in the middle. Place the money tree plant in the center of the flowerpot, then put the swollen part of the lower end into the flowerpot halfway, and fill it with soil after it is fixed.

When filling the soil, you can first put some broken tiles on the top of the flowerpot. When filling the soil, be careful not to leave gaps and do not fill it too tightly to avoid damaging the plants.

After planting in the flowerpot, you can spray some fungicide. Don’t water it yet. Just put it in a cool place for a few days before watering it.

Precautions

When repotting the money tree, be sure to plant it shallowly and do not bury all the roots in the soil. Pruning can be done before potting. Heavy pruning can be done at this time. After pruning, the height of the plant will be reduced, and there is no need to worry about the sprouting of branches and leaves. If the branches and stems have a special shape, such as a braid, pruning can make the layers of branches and leaves more obvious and the plant shape better.

After planting the money tree in a pot, be sure to disinfect it first to avoid infection of the wound or the infestation of pests. After potting, pay attention to ventilation and don't rush to water.
