How to propagate rueba

Seed propagation of rue

The sowing of rue is generally chosen in late autumn or winter when the temperature is 10 to 20 degrees. The seeds of rue can be sown directly without pretreatment, or scattered in moist perlite and refrigerated in a refrigerator at 5 degrees for 2 weeks, and then placed in a light-proof environment at 10 to 20 degrees for germination. The sprouted rue seeds are then transferred to a well-drained medium. Peat plus sand or perlite can be used for planting, or volcanic soil such as red soil that does not contain any peat can be used for planting. Make sure that the moisture in the potting soil can be discharged in time. It will sprout soon, and the leuconostoc likes sunlight, so expose it to the sun as much as possible, which will help its growth. Make sure the water used for sowing is clean, and the watering container must not be contaminated with oil, salt, alkali, herbicides and other substances that are harmful to the seedlings. When the soil temperature is very low in winter, you can water the seedlings with warm water.

2. Division propagation

The method of separating the newly grown small plants from the mother plant of Lophatherum and planting them individually is called division propagation. This method is simple, has a high survival rate, and is often used for excellent single plant propagation. Before Qingming Festival, choose nutrient soil or leaf mold with a pH value of about 5.5 to 6.5 for planting, and place it in a well-lit place after planting.
