How to fertilize the palace lantern Kalanchoe

How to fertilize the palace lantern Kalanchoe

1. The plant's fertilizer requirements

Generally speaking, it has a high demand for fertilizer. Because it is a relatively fertilizer-loving plant. During its vigorous growth period and when it blooms, it requires more fertilizer. However, as we said above, we need to pay attention to the specific time.

2. Specific methods

(1) First, about two weeks after planting. At this time, it is necessary to apply fertilizer two or three times. Note that this time nitrogen fertilizer should be applied mainly, with others as supplementary. As for the type, any general liquid fertilizer will do.

(2) About half a month after division, the treatment at this stage is basically the same as the previous one, with nitrogen as the main element.

(3) In summer, it is necessary to stop applying fertilizer.

(4) Then there is its flowering period. Although not too much fertilizer is needed, appropriate nutrient supplementation is still necessary. Specifically, it is sufficient to apply a solution of potassium dihydrogen phosphate once every month. The frequency does not need to be too high.

(5) Then there is winter, when there is little growth and so there is naturally little demand. Then, this period is the same as the summer, and there is no need to apply it.

3. Notes

(1) The first point is something we are all very familiar with – the issue of concentration. Like other plants, it does not like too concentrated fertilizer. Otherwise, unnecessary harm will be caused.

(2) The second point is also very important. When applying, be sure not to sprinkle the fertilizer on the leaves of the plant. Otherwise, it may corrode the leaves. Be very careful.
