How to propagate Campanula

How to propagate Campanula

Seed propagation of Campanula

One of the main methods of propagation of Campanula is seed propagation.

The first thing is to choose the time for sowing. Sow in spring or in late winter or early spring. Choose small seeds, dry the seeds first, then store them, and wait until spring to sow.

Secondly, in spring, sprinkle the seeds evenly in the soil. Be careful not to cover the soil too thickly. The soil should also be kept moist, but not waterlogged; provide shade and avoid direct sunlight.

While waiting for the seedlings to grow, you need to water them on time and in the appropriate amount, and apply fertilizer, mainly compound fertilizer.

Finally, for seedling cultivation, you can use division or cuttings, and then transplant them. After transplanting, you need to water them enough to allow them to take root, and then manage them according to general procedures for future growth.

If you choose to sow in autumn: the seedlings will not bloom and grow until the spring and summer of the following year.

Cultivation and management of seed propagation

After sowing, cultivation management should be carried out:

First, transplant: About 8 weeks after the plant sprouts, it can be transplanted and cultivated in a flowerpot with an opening of about 11 cm.

When cultivating, choose soil with good drainage and clay in the substrate.

The second is light. During the day, you should pay attention to providing enough light. However, at night, it is necessary to interrupt the supplementary lighting to facilitate the growth of the plants.

Finally, it’s about fertilizer management: it’s necessary to alternate fertilizers every week during the right and wrong times. Pay attention to the amount of fertilizer required by the plant and keep it at a moderate level.

Do not fertilize in mid-September.
