1. Seed propagationNon-artificially cultivated Qingdao lilies are often distributed in groups, with as few as a few plants and as many as dozens, which varies greatly. Seeds are the main breeding carrier of Qingdao lily. Here is a specific method recommended to everyone: 1. Prepare materials:Qingdao lily seeds collected in early November, 30°C warm water, wet sand, a watering can filled with water, peat, peat (or vermiculite), and a shade net 2. Steps:(1) Place the seeds in warm water and stir. The seeds will absorb water and sink. You can then remove the seeds. (2) Place the removed seeds into wet sand, stir, and stimulate germination at a constant temperature of 20°C; (3) During the sprouting process, spray water regularly to keep the sand moist. It will take about 10 to 15 days for the seeds to germinate. If the operation is correct, the germination rate will reach more than 70%. Please be patient. (4) Insert the germinated seeds into peat and cover them with peat (or vermiculite) with a thickness of about 1 cm. Continue to use moist soil (the moisture content should be 30% to 40%). (5) When placed at a temperature above 25°C, it takes about 40 to 50 days for the cotyledons and seed coats to emerge from the soil. (6) After the seedlings emerge, you must not slack off. Use a shading net (shading rate of about 80%) to provide shade to extend the growth cycle. Remember, do not expose to strong light. 2. Bulb reproductionThe growth method of Qingdao lily is that the bulblets replace the mother plant. Loose or broken scales, the root plate of the plant, and the underground stems of the plant can all occur. 1. Keegan fertility ballBulbs with a circumference greater than 8 cm are more common. The internal roots mostly originate from the axils of scale leaves. The basal roots begin to grow in a creeping manner and form a bulb. The number of newborn bulblets varies depending on the mother plant. Bulbs are more likely to be produced when the scales are loosely fitted. 2. Root plate ballThe axils of scales on the sides of the mother plant's stem axis will also produce daughter bulbs, differentiate into scales, and then form new individuals. 3. Stem bulbThe bulbils of Qingdao lily are not produced on the above-ground stems, but on the stem axis below the soil. They are called stem bulbils, but they are rare. |
