How to care for hibiscus in four seasons

Spring Care of Hibiscus

Spring is the time when all things begin to revive, but in early spring, the hibiscus should be placed indoors. After the temperature rises, the amount of watering needs to be gradually increased.

Around May, the temperature has returned to a relatively warm range. At this time, the hibiscus can be placed in a sunny place outdoors for maintenance, but if it is still relatively cold at night, it should be moved indoors. The potting soil needs to be kept moist. Generally, water it when the surface of the soil is dry, but be careful not to allow water to accumulate.

You can trim the overly long roots of the hibiscus and cut off the branches that have bloomed.

Summer care of hibiscus

Summer is a season with relatively large evaporation, so the hibiscus needs to be watered almost every day, and fertilization is generally required once every half a month or so. In July, you can also apply slow-release compound fertilizer.

If the light is strong, especially at noon, shade is needed in time.

Autumn care of hibiscus

As autumn approaches, the temperature gradually drops. The watering of hibiscus needs to be based on the weather. If the temperature is high, you can water it several times a week. If the weather is cold, water it less often. After September, stop fertilizing. When the temperature gradually drops below 5°C, it needs to be moved indoors and placed in a sunny place.

Winter care of hibiscus

The temperature is low in winter, so the hibiscus needs to be placed in a warm place indoors to spend the winter and be given sufficient light.

In winter, the growth of hibiscus has become very slow, so watering and fertilizing need to be reduced. Watering is generally just to ensure that the soil is not dry out, and it is best to stop fertilizing.
