Water and fertilizer management for camellia in winter

Camellia likes moisture but is afraid of waterlogging, so in winter, watering should be appropriate, which is generally determined by the room temperature. Generally, you only need to spray the camellia leaves with water once every 3 or 5 days. Note that the water temperature should be close to the room temperature and not too low. The best time to spray water is at noon on a sunny day.

Camellia likes fertilizer, and winter is the growth period of camellia buds, so fertilization needs to be more frequent in winter, mainly thin application of fertilizer, and thin liquid fertilizer can be applied once a month. In order to ensure better growth of flower buds, apply mainly phosphorus and potassium fertilizers, and less nitrogen fertilizers.

Camellia winter maintenance light and temperature

In terms of lighting, there must be sufficient light. Winter is the growth period of camellia buds, so there must be sufficient light. The daylight hours in winter are relatively short, so if conditions permit, it must be exposed to full sunlight. Camellias grown indoors should be placed in a brightly lit place.

Camellia likes warmth and is afraid of cold, so the maintenance temperature in winter needs to be kept at a high level, preferably 10℃-15℃, and generally not lower than 5℃.
