Can pearl spider plant be hydroponically cultivated? Hydroponics methods and precautions

Can pearl spider plant be hydroponically cultivated?

Pearl Chlorophytum can be grown hydroponically, but because hydroponics lacks some of the nutrients found in soil cultivation, and hydroponics requires many complex details, its survival rate is not high, and its growth is not as good as that of soil cultivation. If you must grow it hydroponically, you can wait until it grows to a certain size and then put it back into the soil for planting.

Hydroponic cultivation method of pearl spider plant

1. Pruning branches

Before hydroponics, you should first trim the branches of the pearl spider plant appropriately and cut off most of the withered and shriveled fleshy parts on its branches.

2. Plant fixation

When hydroponically cultivating the Chlorophytum comosum, choose a transparent glass tall bottle. In addition to making it convenient to observe whether the water needs to be changed and whether it can survive, the mouth of the tall bottle can also support the Chlorophytum comosum plant.

3. Insert the needle into water

When hydroponically cultivating the pearl plant, first use medical stone to fix it in the water, and then place the processed pearl plant branches on the medical stone in the bottle. Remember to add some nutrient solution and change the water frequently.

Precautions for growing pearl spider plants in water

1. Change water and fertilize

When growing pearl spider plants in water, you must change the water appropriately. Failure to change the water for a long time will cause the pearl spider plants to lack nutrients. Even if nutrient solution is added, it cannot replace the nutrients in the water source. At the same time, regular changes of water sources can also prevent some pests and allow the pearl spider plants to grow better.

2. Temperature and light

If the temperature of indoor hydroponic pearl spider plant is higher than 30℃, it will stop growing, so it is necessary to prevent high temperature and exposure to the sun in summer, and appropriate sunlight in winter to prevent frostbite and severe cold, so it is generally better to cultivate it indoors.
