Soilless Cultivation of Iris flexuosa

Soilless Cultivation of Iris flexuosa

Preparation for soilless cultivation of hibiscus

Container selection

For home cultivation, ordinary flower pots can generally be used, such as plastic pots, unglazed pots, etc., but it is best to choose a waterproof container to avoid loss of nutrient solution.

Treatment of scutellaria

Before carrying out soilless cultivation, the ivy must be processed in advance. After digging it out of the soil, first use clean water to gently wash off the soil on the roots and trim the roots and leaves that affect growth. Next, soak the roots in the prepared dilute nutrient solution for about ten minutes to allow them to fully absorb water.

Specific steps for soilless cultivation of hibiscus

First, mix the various substrates in appropriate proportions or put them into the pot separately.

Then plant the processed hibiscus in the center of the pot.

After the hibiscus is planted, you can cover its surface with a layer of pebbles or gravel to fix the plant.

Finally, pour 0.5 times the nutrient solution from around the container until the nutrient solution flows out of the drainage hole.

Maintenance of soilless cultivation of hibiscus

illumination

The genus Berberis likes sunlight, so just place it in a sunny place outdoors.

Watering

Water the ivy in time according to the needs of the species. Generally water every 1-3 days

Nutrient solution

After cultivation, water with dilute nutrient solution about once every 7-10 days. Consider the amount and frequency of nutrient solution use according to the type, growth conditions, growth environment and other specific conditions of the hibiscus flower. It is better to use less rather than more. Generally, the nutrient solution should be replaced once a month and the container should be cleaned.

It should be noted that if there is too much nutrient solution in the container, the roots of the plant will be completely immersed in the nutrient solution, which may easily cause root rot due to lack of oxygen. Generally, the content of nutrient solution in the container should be about 2/3 of the depth of the container itself.
