How to grow orchids so they germinate quickly

How to grow orchids so they germinate quickly

1. Temperature and humidity

Both temperature and humidity need to be precisely controlled. Water the leaves regularly to avoid letting the orchid become dehydrated. If you grow it indoors, it is best to keep the temperature at 20 degrees. It would be even better if there is a big temperature difference between morning and evening. If the temperature in the house is constant, it will not have a dormant period and will germinate less frequently. During the dormant period, it should not be too warm, otherwise it will affect it. It is best to control it below 15 degrees.

2. Fertilizer control

This kind of flower absorbs nutrients first through its roots and then through its leaves. Because it can grow quite tall, you can plant it deeper when planting it so that it can be fixed. In normal maintenance, do not apply a large amount of fertilizer to avoid causing unnecessary damage to it.

You can use salicylic acid solution, dilute it and then spray it, or use aspirin mixed with alcohol and water. Alcohol can dissolve it, and water is used to dilute it, and then water it. This is very effective for its germination.

3. Sunlight

After it enters its dormant period, it needs sufficient diffuse light to illuminate it. Only with sufficient light can its nutrient consumption be guaranteed and its new shoots can grow faster.

4. Soil

If the soil is often in a moist state, and there is wind and scattered light, it can grow, but the number of buds it produces will be relatively small and it will grow slowly. If you want it to sprout and grow faster, you can control the moisture during the dormant period and let the roots dry out. It will feel "threatened" and want to reproduce, and will naturally grow more new buds. In addition, using special soil for maintenance can further promote the emergence and growth of its buds.
