Materials for leaf cutting propagation

soil

Alumroot leaf cutting propagation requires the selection of suitable soil. You can mix vermiculite, perlite and peat soil into a medium, or use sphagnum moss.

The medium used for leaf cuttings needs to maintain a certain humidity and be breathable, and a mixed medium is preferred.

Utensils

For leaf cutting propagation of alum root, you can choose a general seedling pot. However, in order to facilitate the observation of the growth of the alum root root system, you can choose a transparent container.

Materials for leaf cuttings

When doing leaf cuttings, you need to choose suitable leaf cutting materials. On the alumroot plant, select healthy leaves that are intact with their bases.

When picking leaves, gently break off the alum root leaves from the bottom and try to choose larger leaves so that they will take root faster.

Reproduction steps

Place the prepared medium in the culture dish and place the removed leaves on the medium. You can place 3 to 5 leaves and continue to add medium. Be careful not to break the leaves of the alum root.

Fill the culture dish with the medium and water it enough. Water with less force so as not to disperse the medium.

Leaf cutting maintenance

After the alum root leaves are cut, attention should be paid to maintenance, the medium should be kept moist, and it should be placed in a shaded place to ensure ventilation. The maintenance temperature should be controlled between 10℃ and 30℃, and it will generally take root in about a month. Be careful to maintain humidity. Be patient and wait for the alum roots to grow. Do not pull them out to look at them casually. Keep your hands under control, otherwise the survival rate will be reduced. When the root system of alum root is growing, it can be transplanted and established, and normal maintenance can be carried out after transplanting.
