How to solve the problem of yellowing leaves of lucky bamboo in winter

How to solve the problem of yellowing leaves of lucky bamboo in winter

1. Increase lighting

Reason: Lucky bamboo is usually grown indoors in winter, and its leaves may turn yellow easily due to insufficient light.

Solution: Place the lucky bamboo on a sunny windowsill. Since the sunlight is relatively soft in winter and will not cause damage to the leaves, the plants can receive sunlight for a long time.

2. Raise the temperature

Reason: Lucky bamboo grows best in an environment of 20-28℃ and should not be lower than 10℃ in winter, otherwise the leaves will turn yellow.

Solution: Place the lucky bamboo in a warm place indoors. If the room temperature is not enough, you can put it in a plastic bag to keep it warm. Do not place it near air conditioners or heaters, as high temperatures are not good for the leaves. Also don't place it near a computer or TV, as the radiation will affect its growth.

3. Stop fertilizing

Reason: Lucky bamboo grows slowly in winter, and applying fertilizer or nutrient solution will damage the roots, causing the leaves to turn yellow.

Solution: Do not fertilize or add nutrient solution to lucky bamboo in winter. If the fertilizer burns the roots, the damaged plants need to be removed, the rotten roots cut off and planted separately.

4. Healthy water quality

Reason: For lucky bamboo grown in water, healthy water quality is very important. If you add water carelessly, the leaves will turn yellow.

Solution: When adding water to lucky bamboo, it is better to use purified water. If it is tap water, it should be left to stand for a few days. Wait for the chlorine to evaporate and the temperature to approach room temperature before use.
