How to solve the yellowing of lily bamboo leaves

How to solve the yellowing of lily bamboo leaves

1. Increase lighting

Reason: The growth of lily bamboo cannot be separated from sufficient light. If placed in a cool environment for a long time, the leaves will be unable to photosynthesize and will turn yellow.

Solution: Move the lily bamboo to a sunny location. If it is grown indoors, it can be placed on the balcony to receive long-term sunlight. But because it is afraid of strong light, it needs to be properly shaded in the summer to avoid exposure to the sun.

2. Strengthen ventilation

Cause: Poor ventilation leads to reduced air quality. The lack of oxygen makes it impossible for it to breathe, and it may also breed bacteria, causing its leaves to turn yellow.

Solution: Place the lily bamboo in an environment with good air circulation. You can open windows regularly to ventilate the room to provide fresh air. It should be noted that since it is not resistant to low temperatures, the plant should be moved away before opening the window in winter to avoid frostbite.

3. Rehydrate in time

Reason: Lily bamboo grows best in a humid environment. Insufficient water will lead to poor growth and cause the leaves to turn yellow.

Solution: Water the lily bamboo in time. Usually the substrate should be kept moist during the growing period, and watering should be done after the surface of the potting soil dries out. Although it has a certain degree of drought resistance, long-term drought is still not good.

4. Appropriate fertilization

Reason: If there is insufficient base fertilizer in the potting soil and daily fertilization is not sufficient, the leaves of the lily bamboo will turn yellow due to lack of nutrients.

Solution: During the growth period of lily bamboo, liquid fertilizer should be added. In order to promote absorption, water should be applied in time after fertilization. When repotting every year, add decomposed organic fertilizer as base fertilizer to provide a good growth environment.
