How to breed Yale Dance

How to breed Yale Dance

Growth habit

Dancing Plant likes plenty of sunlight and a warm and dry environment. It is drought-resistant and avoids dampness and cold.

It can also grow normally under semi-shade and scattered light conditions, but the variegated colors on the leaves will fade and the distance between the nodes will be lengthened, making the plant loose and not compact, affecting its appearance.

Reproduction

The propagation method generally uses cuttings

Reproduction generally takes place during the growing season, which can provide sufficient nutrients for the plants. The cuttings can be made from branches pruned during shaping. There are no strict requirements on the length of the cuttings. Keep them slightly moist after insertion and they will take root in 2 to 3 weeks.

Cultivation precautions

When watering, remember to "water thoroughly when the soil is dry" to avoid long-term waterlogging in the soil.

Because this species grows quickly, it needs regular pruning and shaping, removing excess branches to maintain its beautiful shape.

Depending on the growth situation, repotting should be done once every spring. The potting soil should be loose, fertile, and have good drainage and air permeability.

Commonly used materials include 2 parts of leaf mold, 2 parts of coarse sand, vermiculite or perlite, and 1 part of garden soil. A small amount of wood ash or bone meal is added as base fertilizer. Mix well before use.

Notes on the Four Seasons of Gagaku no Mai

Except for a little shade during the high temperatures in summer, try to get as much sunlight as possible in other seasons.

Ventilation should be strengthened in summer to avoid hot and humid environments, otherwise leaves will fall due to root rot.

During the peak growing seasons of spring and autumn, apply decomposed thin liquid fertilizer or compound fertilizer once every half a month. Be careful not to use too much nitrogen fertilizer in the fertilizer, so as to avoid too much green on the leaves, which will fail to highlight the characteristics of the variety.

Keep the soil in the pot dry in winter, and it can safely overwinter at around 5℃.
