How to trim the hyacinthus

Top trim

During the growth process of the Oleander, if the top is pruned and removed, it will be easy for new branches to sprout. When the Oleander grows to 20 to 30 cm in height, use a knife to cut off the top and seal the wound with wood ash. After the plant grows branches, only keep three of them, remove the rest and let it grow.

When the plant grows again, you can prune it again to remove the top. When the new branches grow to 25 cm to 30 cm, cut off the top, and wait until the branches grow out, leaving only three branches. The Osmanthus fragrans pruned in this way will have more branches, grow more vigorously, and have a more beautiful shape.

When pruning the Osmanthus fragrans, you can also take advantage of the apical dominance and remove the newly grown weak buds to allow the apex to fully develop and elongate, so that more flowers can bloom.

Plant type control

As new branches grow, old branches gradually weaken. In order to prevent the plant from aging, it needs to be pruned frequently. Cut off the old branches of the Osmanthus fragrans that do not bloom, or the branches that affect the ornamental effect. Keep the plant shape of the Ophiopogon japonicus beautiful.

In order to enable the Osmanthus fragrans to bloom better flowers and control its flowering period and flower shape, some other pruning is needed.

Precautions

If the Osmanthus fragrans is not pruned for a long time or is not properly maintained, it will easily grow too tall and its branches will become messy. Proper pruning can make it grow better and solve the problem of too much growth.

The juice of the Ophiopogon japonicus is low-temperature toxic and can cause discomfort if accidentally touched. When pruning the Oxeye Root, be sure to avoid getting the flowing liquid on your skin. It is best to wear gloves when pruning.
