Onions can only be planted once a year , usually in autumn, preferably in mid-to-early September. The main planting methods are broadcasting or furrow sowing. It takes 8-9 months from onion seedling to harvest . Generally speaking, it can be harvested around the Dragon Boat Festival in May. The onions cannot be stored directly after harvesting. It is best to dry them directly in the field for 1-2 days before packing them for market.
