Causes and solutions for yellowing of Taxus chinensis

Causes and solutions for yellowing of Taxus chinensis

1. Reasons

Generally speaking, there are four main reasons. The first is that it was planted too deep, so its roots did not grow well, resulting in such symptoms.

The second reason is that the pH of the flower soil is too high. Because it likes slightly acidic flower soil, and if you use flower soil with too high a pH, it will definitely have problems.

The third reason is the lack of Fe element, which helps to form chlorophyll. Once it is lacking, the plant will not be able to carry out photosynthesis normally, thus causing this symptom.

Fourthly, problems may arise because the normal temperature is too low.

2. Solution

The solution must be achieved in stages. In the early stage we need to solve the problem from three aspects. The first is to use special fertilizer for yellowing and use it before its new branches grow out. The second is to use FeSO4 and spray it on the leaves. The third is to increase the temperature to give it suitable growth conditions.

Some diseased plants may have problems with the soil because it is too alkaline, so they may appear green for a short time after fertilization, but they will turn yellow after half a year. Some plants may be planted too deep, causing problems with root growth. For these two situations, we need to change the soil.

In the middle and late stages of treatment, we still need to use fertilizers specifically for yellowing, and increase the dosage moderately while ensuring that there will be no problems with the roots. In addition, we can also make some holes in its trunk and add fertilizer into it. Its leaves will turn green in about seven days.

In addition, we also need to prune and cut off the branches whose root systems are not as active as before so that its nutrients can be concentrated. If the yellowing is more severe, we can cut more, but it still depends on the number of leaves. If there are too few leaves, we still have to cut less, otherwise it will be bare.
